Most software engineers, or anyone who’s ever revisited any older code (or for that matter, text), that they’ve written, is familiar with that moment of disgust, that passionate search for the perpetrator of such atrocities, and the guilt-ridden self-loathing you experience when you realize that perpetrator is you. I’m not sure that’s quite the case yet, nor am I completely clear on what people are exactly referring to when they talk about the “current meta”, but it is safe to say that a not insignificant amount of problems (at a certain scale) have been reduced to near triviality by the emergence of serverless infrastructure.
